Linera Shutdown Hinges on Funding Shortfall After Sonar Token Sale Misses Mark

Linera's Layer 1 project has shut down operations after its Sonar token sale failed to meet minimum requirements. The offering secured $848,300 in USDC, falling short of the required $1.5 million.

Fundamental to Linera's shutdown is a funding shortfall rather than technical failure. Founder Mathieu Baudet revealed that emergency talks with potential backers did not yield sufficient capital to preserve development or reach mainnet.

Participants in the Sonar token sale received no LNRA tokens as their commitments were returned in full, according to Linera's refund policy disclosed beforehand. The team had approached investors for emergency funding but was unable to secure it.
