OSL Exchange Brings Retail Trading to XRP in Hong Kong
Hong Kong's licensed OSL Exchange has launched retail trading for XRP, marking a significant expansion of regulated access to one of the world's largest cryptocurrencies. According to the company, it is now possible for Hong Kong retail investors to trade XRP through Flash Trade and OTC services.
The listing expands on an earlier professional-investor listing by Hashkey, which offered XRP trading to institutional and professional investors in the region. With this new development, OSL has become the first exchange in Hong Kong to offer XRP trading to retail customers, providing them with another option to access the cryptocurrency through a locally licensed platform.
OSL Digital Securities operates under a license issued by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), which requires platforms to meet rigorous standards covering client asset protection, custody, anti-money laundering controls, token admission, cybersecurity, and market surveillance. This expansion of regulated access is seen as a step forward in Hong Kong's development of its digital asset market.
The launch comes after OSL's $200 million expansion raise in January, which provided funding for acquisitions, payment infrastructure, stablecoin initiatives, and international growth. The company's continued expansion into the digital asset space reflects the growing interest in cryptocurrencies within the region.
