Peter Brandt Ranks XRP, Monero, Solana by Chart Strength
Veteran trader Peter Brandt recently shared a detailed comparison of the weekly charts for XRP, Monero (XMR), and Solana (SOL), focusing solely on price patterns and measured moves. Brandt's analysis prioritizes classical technical analysis over fundamentals, emphasizing that chart structures evolve and relative strength varies among assets.
For XRP, Brandt identified a cup-and-handle formation on the weekly chart, which could also be part of a larger inverted head-and-shoulders pattern. The upside target from this pattern is near $2.16, but Brandt cautioned that the right shoulder appears poorly formed, making the target conditional. Heavy overhead supply further complicates XRP's potential upward move, as price must absorb this resistance before any sustained advance can begin.
Monero (XMR) received more favorable marks from Brandt. The asset has largely absorbed its previous overhead supply, leaving a clearer path ahead. The weekly chart shows progressively higher highs and a cleaner structure, making it Brandt's clear favorite among the three. He noted that he does not need any fundamental narrative to justify his preference for XMR.
Solana (SOL) also earned positive attention. Brandt highlighted a more impressive cup-and-handle pattern on SOL's weekly chart, with a broad rounded base under a well-defined horizontal resistance line. The setup suggests a higher-quality continuation once the level resolves, with some congestion remaining but a cleaner structure overall. Brandt also briefly compared Ethereum (ETH) and Stellar (XLM), noting that ETH faces heavy congestion without XRP-type overhead supply, while XLM faces less resistance.
