Polygon Surpasses $3T Stablecoin Volume in Just 21 Months
Polygon has surpassed $3 trillion in cumulative stablecoin transfer volume, with a significant portion of that growth occurring in just the past 21 months.
According to Polygon, more than half of its lifetime stablecoin volume - $1.67 trillion - has moved since January 2025. This marks a notable acceleration in the network's growth, with $933 billion processed during 2025 alone.
The increase in volume coincides with Polygon's shift towards payments infrastructure, as opposed to relying primarily on its older DeFi and NFT narrative. Major payment companies such as Revolut, Mastercard, Cash App, Deel, and Tazapay have used the network, with Revolut moving $810 million through Polygon in 2025.
Polygon has been upgrading capacity around the payments thesis, including a June upgrade that increased network capacity to as much as 5,000 payments per second. The network has also introduced private stablecoin payments that can hide sender and recipient information using zero-knowledge technology.
