Quant and The Graph Whale Activity Hits Record High as FOMO Risk Rises
Quant and The Graph have seen an unusual surge in large transactions, prompting caution from analysts at Santiment. On September 29, they noted that the Quant network processed 645 transactions worth at least $100,000 in a single day, a record high for QNT. This came as prices rose sharply, with Quant gaining 299% and The Graph increasing by 47%. Large-value movements intensified alongside price rises, according to Santiment.
The surge in whale activity coincided with significant developments for both assets. The Clearing House selected Quant for the interoperability and transaction layer of its new tokenized deposit network, putting QNT in focus. Meanwhile, The Graph Foundation is shifting a larger share of Subgraph Studio traffic to The Graph Network, aiming to increase real-world network usage and strengthen GRT's economic model.
Santiment views continued whale activity positively but notes that the tendency to rush into trades to avoid missing out on a rally after strong gains, that is, FOMO, is becoming a clear risk. The firm believes that rather than prices continuing to rise without interruption, a period of calm and sideways trading could provide a healthier foundation.
