Rialo Aims to Build a Blockchain Tailored for Institutions
Rialo, a blockchain launched in August 2025 by Subzero Labs, is setting its sights on becoming a go-to platform for institutional adoption. The company, founded by engineers from Sui, recently secured $20 million in funding led by Pantera Capital, with participation from HashKey, Coinbase Ventures, Mysten Labs, and Variant. Bobby Zagotta, Rialo's chief business officer, emphasized the need for a blockchain tailored for institutions, noting that existing blockchains are often too complex for daily operations.
Rialo's infrastructure is designed to simplify blockchain integration for institutions. It natively supports APIs for connecting with external systems, interoperability across blockchains, and selective privacy functions. Services like Rialo Edge and IPC allow financial institutions to use blockchain without exposing sensitive data on-chain. Zagotta highlighted potential use cases in real-world assets (RWA) and AI agents, where Rialo could facilitate lending and credit guarantees.
The company is not rushing to launch a token, preferring to first establish real-world use cases and business models. Rialo is already collaborating with Cboe and other institutions, developing applications that could pave the way for a future token launch. In South Korea, Rialo is discussing proof-of-concept projects with several financial firms, aiming to position itself as a preferred blockchain partner when institutions expand into crypto.
