Ripple Unleashes $1.49B in XRP, But Most Heads Back to Escrow

Ripple has unlocked 1 billion XRP from escrow as part of its routine monthly release. The total value of the released XRP is approximately $1.49 billion, but most of it will likely be returned to escrow.

The four separate transactions were flagged by an on-chain whale alert account and included releases of 400 million XRP valued at $595 million, 200 million XRP valued at $297 million, 300 million XRP valued at $446 million, and 100 million XRP valued at $149 million.

Ripple typically returns a large share of the unlocked XRP to escrow, with around 700-800 million XRP returned in most months. The remaining amount is used for operational purposes, ecosystem initiatives, and other activities.
