Saylor Backs Rival Strive, Sees Benefits in Shared Bitcoin Strategy
MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor recently expressed his support for Strive, a smaller company that also buys Bitcoin. This unusual endorsement is notable because MicroStrategy holds more BTC than any other listed firm.
In an essay on X, Saylor stated, 'I want Strive to succeed. I want every well-managed issuer of Bitcoin-powered Digital Credit to succeed.' He believes that when Strive buys more coins, it adds demand for the asset with a fixed supply, potentially increasing its price and benefiting both companies' holdings.
Both firms follow the same playbook: raising money from investors to buy BTC. MicroStrategy holds 847,666 BTC, while Strive ranks fifth among public holders with 27,462 BTC, according to BitcoinTreasuries data.
Strive also sold shares that pay investors a regular income, similar to MicroStrategy's STRC program. Saylor argued that having more sellers could build investor trust and lower borrowing costs for both firms.
