Saylor Throws Support Behind Rival Strive in Quest to Boost Industry Growth
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy, has publicly expressed his support for Strive, a smaller company that also buys Bitcoin (BTC). In an essay on X, Saylor stated that he wants Strive to succeed, citing industry growth and the potential for a stronger market.
The two companies share similarities in their strategy: raising funds from investors and using them to buy BTC. MicroStrategy holds 847,666 BTC, the largest amount among listed firms, while Strive ranks fifth with 27,462 BTC, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data.
Saylor believes that every coin Strive buys adds demand for an asset with a fixed supply, which would increase its value and subsequently lift the value of both companies' holdings. He also acknowledged that BTC pays no interest, but emphasized that this can be mitigated by building investor trust and lower borrowing costs through trusted issuers and disciplined execution.
Strive CEO Matt Cole agreed with Saylor's statement, saying that the two firms are stronger together. Strive has also purchased $50 million of MicroStrategy's STRC shares in March, further solidifying their relationship.
