SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci has defended Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ:COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong after the CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate.

The bill, which would create a federal framework dividing crypto oversight between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, failed to advance this week with a 49-50 vote.

Scaramucci called the bill's collapse 'typical Washington nonsense,' arguing that partisan rancor sank a compromise bill he said 'helped all Americans.'

He added that the ensuing 'blame game' was 'total nonsense.'
