SEC Presses Ahead with Crypto Rules Despite Senate Setback on CLARITY Act

Share

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has announced that the agency will continue to develop and implement rules for the crypto market, despite the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act on September 15.

The bill, which aimed to provide clarity and guidance for crypto regulations, was voted down in a 49-50 procedural motion, falling short of the required 60 votes.

Atkins stated that the SEC will use its existing legal authority to provide more certainty for investors and crypto companies.

In an X post on Wednesday, Atkins expressed his commitment to acting on crypto regulations, even without legislative support.
