Securitize and LG CNS Team Up for Tokenized Assets in South Korea
Securitize and LG CNS have joined forces to advance tokenized assets in South Korea, signing a memorandum of understanding that covers market development, tokenization technology, and digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions. The partnership aims to explore institutional products and systems that connect Korean financial institutions with global capital markets. Securitize will bring its regulated tokenization experience, while LG CNS will provide technology services and local financial sector relationships. Any resulting products will need to pass regulatory review and internal compliance processes.
The collaboration will focus on institutional tokenized funds, securities, stablecoins, and digital asset treasury solutions. Both companies plan to identify opportunities in South Korea and other Asia-Pacific markets, with a focus on technical implementation, product development, and education for institutions considering tokenized financial products. Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo highlighted the country’s strong financial and technology sectors, emphasizing the goal to build infrastructure for high-quality financial products on-chain in Korea.
LG CNS has also launched KITL, a platform designed for banks, securities firms, and payment providers. KITL offers digital wallets, transaction processing, fee support, and transaction record collection functions, building on work tested in the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang. The platform is supported by partners including Circle, the Canton Foundation, Chainalysis, and Chainlink, covering stablecoin infrastructure, institutional network access, and blockchain connectivity.
For American investors, Securitize’s NYSE-listed SECZ shares provide an existing route to ownership in the tokenization company. As of September, Securitize reported approximately $5 billion in assets under management, with notable asset management partners such as BlackRock, Apollo, and BNY. The company’s shares were tokenized on Solana and Avalanche following its NYSE listing, representing the same common stock traded on the exchange. Additionally, Hanwha Group holds a 9.6% stake in Securitize, with investments made by various affiliates and investment vehicles.
