A Senate investigation has uncovered widespread use of Tether's USDT among wallets linked to Iran.

Researchers found that 87% of 846 examined wallets, identified by US and Israeli authorities as sanctioned, primarily used USDT for their transactions.

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations suspects this activity may be related to sanctions evasion and possible financing routes involving Iran's proxy networks and illicit oil activities.

Tether was found to have been widely used through the Tron network, which is often preferred for its fast settlement and liquidity features.
