Shiba Inu (SHIB) holders are nearing 1.7 million as the token breaks a downtrend that has lasted nearly five years.

According to data from Etherscan, shared by BSCNews, the number of SHIB wallet holders is closing in on 1.689 million addresses.

This growth has been steady over the past two weeks, with the figure now within close reach of the 1.7 million mark.

A separate update from the SHIB Knight account shows that the token's chart has broken a downward-sloping line that has held since October 2021, marking nearly five years of resistance for the asset.
