SilkBank has expanded its Georgia mobile banking app to include USDT purchases and transfers. This move allows customers in Georgia to access cryptocurrency transactions alongside their fiat accounts.

The service supports a range of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), BNB, XRP, and Gram. A limited-time promotion offers 0% commission on all USDT transactions.

This development comes as Georgia pursues stablecoin infrastructure. Tether and the Georgian government have announced plans to launch GEL₮, a stablecoin representing the Georgian lari, with further details expected to be released later.

SilkBank's CEO, Aleksi Khoroshvili, noted that the rapid growth of SilkApp confirms the strength of their digital-first strategy and the demand for modern, mobile-led banking in Georgia. The app had over 500,000 downloads and more than 200,000 Tier II users as of December 31, 2025.
