Strategy Inc. Adds 334 Bitcoin to Its Massive Holdings
Strategy Inc., the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, continued its Bitcoin accumulation streak by purchasing 334 BTC over the past week. According to a regulatory filing disclosed on Monday, the company acquired the Bitcoin between October 1 and October 4, 2026, for $28.7 million at an average price of $85,838.8 per coin. This latest addition brings Strategy's total holdings to approximately 848,000 BTC, representing more than 4% of Bitcoin's fixed 21 million supply.
The purchase was primarily funded through at-the-market equity sales and existing cash reserves. In the week ended September 27, Strategy sold 1,469,165 shares of Class A common stock (MSTR), generating $246.2 million in net proceeds. Of this amount, $142.7 million was allocated to Bitcoin purchases, while $103.5 million was used for repurchases of its variable-rate Series A perpetual preferred stock (STRC).
The latest buy follows a smaller acquisition in late September, where Strategy purchased 1,665 BTC for $142.7 million. The company has been financing its Bitcoin buys mainly through equity programs and existing dollar balances. As of September 27, Strategy's USD Cash account stood at $1.00 billion, with an additional $5.02 billion in the reserve earmarked for dividends and interest.
Market observers noted the contrast with preferred-stock issuance, as Strategy last sold STRC through its ATM facility in mid-May, raising nearly $2 billion. The firm's holdings remain the largest corporate stack by a wide margin, with Bitcoin trading around the $85,000-$86,000 range at the time of the disclosure. Strategy's historical average cost remains below the current spot price, placing the treasury in unrealized profit on a blended basis.
