Tokenized Assets Surge Past $7B as Crypto Market Shrinks
Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) have seen a significant surge in deposits over the past year, more than tripling to $7.4 billion between Q2 2025 and Q2 2026, according to a report from CoinShares and Token Terminal.
This growth comes despite a decline of around 15% in total DeFi (decentralized finance) deposits during the same period.
Ethereum hosted nearly 70% of RWA deposits, supported by established lending liquidity and borrower demand.
Tokenized spot trading volume increased roughly 220% year-over-year, while aggregate DEX (Decentralized Exchange) volume dropped approximately 70% over the same period.
