Tron Hits 100M Weekly Transactions, Dominating Stablecoin Economy
Tron has solidified its role as stablecoin infrastructure, nearing 100 million weekly transactions and processing between $150 billion and $190 billion in stablecoin transfers during that same period. The bulk of this volume comes from Tether's USDT, with the asset accounting for approximately $89 billion of its total global supply on the Tron network.
Average transaction fees on the network have dropped to around seven cents, a multiyear low, which is attributed to Tron's delegated proof-of-stake consensus model. This model relies on 27 elected Super Representatives to validate transactions, enabling fast confirmations and low costs.
The network has also been expanding its stablecoin ecosystem beyond USDT, with new integrations and additional stablecoin launches aimed at broadening its utility as digital payment infrastructure.
