Uniswap's UNI token has surged over 26% in response to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) granting temporary conditional relief for permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools to trade tokenized NMS stocks.

The SEC decision, which affects Uniswap v4 infrastructure, is seen as a major development in the tokenized asset sector. Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap, confirmed that the exemption applies to permissioned pools on the protocol's newest version.

The price of UNI has risen sharply following the announcement, trading at $8.77 with a 27.6% increase, while ONDO has gained 12% to around $0.38.
