US Senator Says Clarity Act Won't Collapse Despite Failed Vote
US Democratic Senator Angela Alsobrooks has dismissed concerns that the Clarity Act may be derailed after its recent failed floor vote. In an interview, she stated that more than 70 million Americans are participating in an unregulated industry and that lawmakers have a responsibility to regulate it.
Alsobrooks criticized Republican leadership for pushing ahead with the vote while refusing to hold President Donald Trump accountable over corruption in the crypto industry. She accused Republicans of playing political games.
The Clarity Act has been a contentious issue, with Alsobrooks voting against it in the Sept. 15 procedural vote despite previously backing its advancement in the Senate Banking Committee.
