XRP Could Surpass Bitcoin in Market Cap, Former Ripple CTO Says

David Schwartz, former chief technology officer at Ripple, believes XRP could surpass Bitcoin in market capitalization. However, this would require XRP to grow significantly faster than Bitcoin.

According to a hypothetical scenario presented by The Crypto Basic, if Bitcoin's market cap expands to $3 trillion, XRP would need a market cap above $3 trillion to surpass it. This would put the price of XRP at around $49.40 per token, which is about 35 times its current price.

Schwartz does not expect people to leave Bitcoin in large numbers and move into XRP. Instead, he sees the overall crypto market growing larger, with XRP taking a bigger share of that growth. He believes the XRP Ledger offers functions that Bitcoin does not have.
