XRP Faces Crucial Escrow Release Amidst Institutional Demand and Security Headaches
Ripple's XRP is facing a crucial test as its next escrow release approaches on October 1. The event will unlock approximately 1 billion XRP, valued at around $1.5 billion at current prices of $1.52 per token.
The move comes amidst a tug-of-war between institutional demand and security concerns that have shaken the market in recent weeks.
US spot ETFs tied to XRP have been driving demand, with cumulative net inflows nearing $1.8 billion. The funds have registered positive flows for ten consecutive weeks, absorbing sell pressure around the $1.60 per token zone.
The token's price has risen 10% over the past seven days and 18% above its 50-day moving average, reaching $1.54 per token on Tuesday and Wednesday alone.
