XRP Ledger's Batch Upgrade Set to Activate, Boosting Efficiency

The XRP Ledger is on the verge of its most significant upgrade in years, set to activate on September 29. The Batch amendment has garnered support from 30 out of 35 validators, meeting the required threshold of at least 28 votes for 14 consecutive days.

Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, confirmed that asset managers and commercial projects are already working with the Batch feature ahead of its launch. However, no specific companies or timelines were disclosed.

The Batch upgrade allows for up to eight transactions to be processed together in a single operation, providing an all-or-nothing approach to ensure simultaneous processing of assets and payments. This feature is particularly appealing to asset managers, as it prevents either party from inadvertently holding both sides of a transaction.

The revised version of the Batch amendment has undergone extensive audits and testing to address the security concerns raised in the first attempt. If successful, the upgrade will bring Ripple's delivery-versus-payment feature to life, potentially making XRP more attractive to investors.
