XRP Recovery May Take Years as Token Struggles to Reclaim Former Glory
XRP has had one complete cycle of crashing and recovering in seven and a half years. This recovery was heavily influenced by a major lawsuit filed by the SEC against Ripple in December 2020.
The last crash occurred after XRP reached an all-time high of $3.40 in January 2018, falling to about $0.11 by March 2020. However, it bounced back and set a new record at $3.65 in July 2025.
XRP is currently trading at $1.50, which is 58.9% lower than its peak in July 2025. To reach that level again, XRP would need to increase by 143%. The recent 46.9% bounce may signal the start of a recovery, but it could also be a temporary pause.
Two indicators can help measure progress: whether XRP trades positively for 2026 and consistent inflows into XRP funds. If neither trend materializes, we may find ourselves waiting years again for the next XRP recovery.
