Apple Raises iCloud+ Prices in Eight Countries Amid Exchange Rate Fluctuations
Apple has raised the prices of its iCloud+ subscription service in eight countries around the world. The affected regions include Nigeria, Turkey, Vietnam, Japan, Egypt, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The price increases range from 11% to 55%, depending on the type of plan and country. In Nigeria, for example, the price of the 50GB plan jumped from 900 Naira to 1300 Nigerian Naira, while in Turkey it rose from 39.99 Turkish Lira to 49.99 Turkish Lira.
The reason behind this move is not a desire by Apple to increase profits without justification, but rather a direct reflection of global exchange rate fluctuations against the US dollar. The company has adjusted its prices to maintain the actual value of its earnings in each region.
