AUD/JPY Gains Momentum Amid Reduced Expectations for RBA Tightening
The Australian Dollar (AUD) has been gaining momentum against the Japanese Yen (JPY), but its recent surge may be short-lived. The AUD/JPY pair is currently trading at ¥110.01, up 0.63% from yesterday's close. This upward movement could continue in the near term, with forecasts suggesting a range of ¥109.46 to ¥110.56 over the next few days.
However, subdued Australian consumer inflation data has reduced expectations for further Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) policy tightening, limiting support for the AUD. Governor Michele Bullock's comments indicate that official rates are likely to remain unchanged, influencing near-term currency valuations against the JPY.
The AUD/JPY pair shows near-term bullish momentum, but overbought conditions warn of a potential pullback risk. Technical indicators such as MACD and ADX remain in Buy mode, while RSI, Stochastic RSI, and CCI continue to show overbought readings.
