Dollar Soars Against Euro Amid US Economic Strength
The US dollar has been gaining strength against major currencies, particularly the euro, amid rising US interest rates and concerns over Europe's economic woes.
The dollar reached its highest point of the year against the euro on Wednesday, with the euro dipping to a 16-month low at $1.1312 and trading nearby at $1.1339 in Asia.
Brent Donnelly, president of foreign exchange trading at analytics firm Spectra Markets, attributed the dollar's rise to the US economy running hot and Europe facing concerns over energy supplies, French politics, and its lagging AI development.
