Dollar Steady Ahead of Warsh Speech, Revised NFPs
The US Dollar (USD) held steady above 99.00 on Friday as investors prepared for Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium and the release of revised Nonfarm Payrolls data.
According to a table provided, the USD was the strongest against the Japanese Yen this week, with a percentage change of 0.26% against EUR, 0.34% against GBP, and 0.43% against JPY.
Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack delivered a hawkish-leaning message in her speech, emphasizing that 'now is time to act given persistence of inflation,' which underscored a push for tighter policy to re-anchor expectations.
Analysts at ING highlighted the importance of Warsh's appearance at Jackson Hole and the Bureau of Labor Statistics' release of its annual nonfarm payroll benchmark revisions, cautioning that any surprises could be noteworthy for markets.
