Global Stocks Mixed Amid Wall Street Losses and Iran Uncertainty
Global stocks were mixed on Tuesday as investors responded to losses on Wall Street and uncertainly surrounding U.S.-Iran talks.
The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq composite all fell on Monday, with the S&P 500 dipping by 0.8 percent.
U.S. Treasury yields have been rising amid growing concerns about inflation and government debt, reaching their highest level in roughly two decades at around 5.24 percent on Tuesday.
In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 0.6 percent to 65,481.27, while South Korea's Kospi declined by 0.3 percent to 6,870.81 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 0.5 percent to 24,523.57.
However, Britain's FTSE 100 rose 0.3 percent to 10,721.04, France's CAC 40 gained 0.1 percent to 8,086.40 and Germany's DAX added 0.3 percent to 25,460.81 in early European trading.
Australia's central bank lifted its benchmark rate for the fourth time this year on Tuesday, taking it to its highest level in 15 years.
