Iraq Dollar Exchange Rate Sees Slight Decline Amid Previous Spike

The US dollar exchange rate in Iraq has seen a slight decline after a days-long spike. In Baghdad's al-Kifah and al-Harithiya stock exchanges, the rate dropped to 1,570 Iraqi dinars per dollar compared to 1,572.5 on Wednesday morning. The exchange rate in currency shops ranged from 1,575 to 1,565 dinars.

In Erbil, the US dollar rate also decreased, fluctuating between 1,571.5 and 1,571 Iraqi dinars.

The Central Bank of Iraq had introduced a new exchange rate in February 2023 of 1,300 dinars per dollar, down from the previous official rate of 1,450 dinars to one US dollar.
