Japan's September Yen-Buying Data to Reveal Intervention Risk
Japan's Ministry of Finance will publish its September yen-buying data on Wednesday, which could provide evidence of whether Tokyo intervened in the foreign exchange market to support the Yen.
The release will cover the period around the reported rate check by Japan's central bank on September 18, and a large figure would suggest a defence line near 159.00 for the USD/JPY pair.
Developments also depend on upcoming economic data, including Japan's Tankan survey and Tokyo's CPI, which is forecast to jump to 2.4% from 1.8%
The Ministry of Finance's report will be closely watched by derivative traders, who are preparing for a busy week with opposing forces between the US and Japanese economies.
