Treasury Yields Soar to 24-Year Highs Amid Global Market Volatility
Treasury yields hit their highest level in 24 years at 5.34% on the first trading day of October, following a steep quarterly rise of 32 years.
The bond rout, however, attracted some buyers back into the market, as yields between 5.25% and 5.35% proved attractive for long-term value.
The question now is whether Treasury bonds can rally for a second day, after failing to do so last month. Yields are creeping higher again in Asia, climbing 2 basis points to 5.2470%, ahead of the US nonfarm payrolls report for September.
