Trump Seeks Rate Cuts as WalletHub Ranks Best Small Cities
President Trump has expressed his opinion that interest rates should be at 1% or less. This comes after the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point, bringing the target range to 3.75% to 4.00%. Trump's comments were made in response to the recent decision.
Meanwhile, WalletHub has released its ranking of the best small cities to live in America. According to their analysis, which considered 45 key indicators of livability, Lexington, Massachusetts ranked as the number one small city. The city has a low crime rate and high median household income, with residents earning over $238,000 per year.
WalletHub also noted that nearly half of Americans would prefer to live in suburbs rather than urban areas or rural communities. The organization's analysis found that families can save significant amounts of money by living in smaller cities, particularly when it comes to housing costs. For example, a two-parent family with two children in Hanford, California could cover the cost of living on just $8,417 per month, compared to over $19,000 in San Francisco.
