UBS vs JPMorgan: USD/JPY Forecasts Diverge Amid Renewed Yen Weakness
Forecasts for the US Dollar to Japanese Yen exchange rate (USD/JPY) have diverged, with UBS and JPMorgan offering different predictions. In its September outlook, UBS projected a partial yen recovery after renewed weakness into December, anticipating a USD/JPY value of 160 in that month.
However, JPMorgan's forecast table from the same period puts USD/JPY at 164 for all four quarter-ends in 2027. This represents a significant gap between the two predictions, with UBS' target roughly 1.3% below JPMorgan's.
The current exchange rate is around 157.93, which has shown a slight increase of 0.23% over the past day after falling by 1.37% in September. It remains to be seen how these forecasts will materialize and whether they will have any impact on market movements.
