Ukraine's Central Bank Tweaks Exchange Rates on September 1
The National Bank of Ukraine has set new official exchange rates for the US dollar and euro on September 1. The official US dollar rate fell by 3 kopecks to UAH 44.52, while the euro declined by 25 kopecks to UAH 51.63.
Compared to the previous day's rates, these changes are modest. However, a closer look at the differences between official and bank rates reveals that Ukrainians may pay more when exchanging currency in certain situations.
The average bank exchange rate for the dollar is UAH 44.33 for buying and UAH 44.81 for selling, while banks buy euros at an average rate of UAH 51.39 and sell them at UAH 52.02.
