Williams Appointed to NZ Monetary Policy Committee

Finance Minister Nicola Willis has announced Rebecca Williams as an internal member of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).

Williams will commence her one-year term on 15 October, concluding 14 October 2027. The reduced term reflects adherence to electoral conventions, ensuring the next administration retains discretion over long-term appointments.

'Ms Williams brings strong institutional knowledge to the Monetary Policy Committee,' said Minister Willis.

'I am confident that her expertise will support the MPC in its critical role of maintaining price stability.'
