A $700 million settlement has been approved by a federal court to resolve a multi-state lawsuit against Google over allegations of monopolizing Android app distribution and in-app payment services.

Arizona was one of the states that joined a coalition of attorneys general representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands in bringing the case against Google in 2021.

The lawsuit alleged that Google used its control over Android app distribution and Google Play billing to limit competition, reduce consumer choice, and charge consumers as much as 30% on certain transactions.
