In preparation for the upcoming 2026 fantasy football season, several IDP players are being scrutinized for potential disappointments. One such player is Caleb Downs, a rookie safety for the Dallas Cowboys, who may be limited by his role in nickel back. While he will still see sufficient snaps to make him a solid flex option, his upside is capped due to his position.

Another IDP player facing uncertainty is Andre Cisco, a safety for the New York Jets, who was initially expected to start but now seems to be in competition with Dane Belton. If Cisco does not secure the starting role, he may be traded or waived, which could impact his fantasy value.

Brian Burns, a defensive end for the New York Giants, is shifting alignment from the weak side to the strong side, which may lead to tougher weekly assignments and reduce his sack production. Montez Sweat, a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears, had an impressive 2025 season but may face increased scrutiny and help from opposing offenses, potentially leading to sack regression.

Tuli Tuipolutu, a pass rusher for the Los Angeles Chargers, is considered an ascending edge player but has some red flags, including inconsistent tackle counts and limited snaps in obvious running situations. Devin White, a linebacker for the Detroit Lions, may see his snap share reduced due to the team's preference to use Derrick Barnes on passing downs, while Leo Chenal, also a linebacker for the Washington Commanders, appears stuck in a part-time role.

Finally, Tyrel Dodson, a linebacker for the Miami Dolphins, is facing pressure from rookies Jacob Rodbriguez and Trey Moore, who may supplant him as starters or see significant playing time. As a result, Dodson's fantasy value is being reassessed, and he should be targeted only as bench depth.
