AI Agents Revolutionize India's Financial Services Sector with Speed and Efficiency
In India's financial services sector, AI agents are transforming the way businesses operate. A key example is Niwas Housing Finance, which uses multilingual voice-to-text technology to bridge the language gap for customers. This allows a small dairy farmer in Andhra Pradesh to apply for a home loan in his native language.
By July 2026, UPI had processed 23.65 billion transactions worth ₹29.87 lakh crore in a single month. Digital transactions have become an integral part of financial life in India. AI is now being used not just to answer customer queries but also to interpret and act within workflows.
At a recent episode of All About AI, leaders from Salesforce, Godrej Capital, Mirae Asset Investment Managers, and Niwas Housing Finance discussed the impact of AI on lending, investments, and customer engagement. Sonali Kalyanikar, VP Sales at Salesforce India, emphasized the importance of speed in AI adoption. 'When we talk about AI, it's all about velocity; it's all about speed,' she said.
Generative AI has made it easier for people to connect with technology through natural language, while agentic AI allows systems to complete tasks and interact directly with other systems. This is changing the way financial institutions operate, connecting previously separate parts of a customer process. Employees can now focus on decision-making rather than coordinating.
