The US Air Force has ordered 22 more F-15EX Eagle II fighters from Boeing in a $2.38 billion contract, known as Lot 7. This brings the total number of F-15EXs on contract to 120 across seven production lots.

The deal was signed on September 29, 2026, and the aircraft will be delivered next year. The Air Force says its negotiators kept all 22 aircraft within available funding before the fiscal-year deadline, which is September 30.

Boeing's F-15EX has digital fly-by-wire flight controls, an all-glass touchscreen cockpit, and new mission systems, making it a significant upgrade over the ageing F-15C and F-15D fleet. The company wants to raise production to two aircraft per month at its St. Louis plant.

According to Brig. Gen. Timothy Helfrich, the Lot 7 agreement reflects 'a disciplined approach to executing available resources while balancing the realities affecting defense production.'
