Alibaba & Google Unleash AI-Powered PC Revolution

Two major tech companies, Alibaba and Google, have unveiled their latest PC products that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operating systems. The Qwen Book, developed by Alibaba's AI-focused division, has been showcased at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, while the first batch of Googlebook PCs will go on sale from October 4.

The Qwen Book is a 2-in-1 device that combines a tablet and detachable keyboard with a secondary screen embedded on the back. It uses an end-cloud collaboration system, where a small model runs on the device side for simple tasks, while more complex reasoning and generation tasks are handed over to the cloud-based Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-Flash.

The operating system is designed as the 'harness' for AI, allowing users to interact with the Agent through various methods such as touchscreens, styluses, and voice commands. The Agent can understand content on the screen without needing re-screenshot or upload, enabling tasks to continue across different applications and time.

The Googlebook PCs, built on the Android technology stack, integrate ChromeOS's desktop windows, browser, and Linux tools. This allows for seamless continuity between mobile phones and PCs, with users able to access the full Play Store and run native Android apps without emulators.
