AlpenGlobal Capital LLC Invests Heavily in Amazon.com, Inc.

AlpenGlobal Capital LLC made headlines this quarter by investing $12.42 million in Amazon.com, Inc.

The fund acquired 52,119 shares of AMZN's stock, which makes up about 8% of AlpenGlobal Capital LLC's holdings and is the company's third-largest position.

This investment is not an isolated incident, as several other hedge funds also increased their stakes in Amazon.com during the second quarter. Bank of New York Mellon Corp purchased a new position valued at approximately $16.34 billion, while Invesco Ltd. raised its stake by 3.3% and now owns over 59 million shares.

The e-commerce giant has been making waves with various announcements this week, including a deal to purchase backup generators from Generac worth up to $8 billion through 2033. Amazon also plans to expand same-day delivery hubs from 85 to over 1,000 by 2031, and AWS reached an annualized revenue run rate of $169 billion.
