Amazon Cloud Computing Service Down After Drone Strikes
Amazon's cloud computing service remains down in Bahrain and the UAE, over six months after its facilities were damaged by drone strikes. The US tech giant said it has assessed the damage to multiple sites in Bahrain and found it too extensive to restore.
The company has told customers to move their workloads to other Amazon Web Services (AWS) sites in the Middle East. This comes after two of its data centers in the UAE were directly hit by drones, while a facility in Bahrain was damaged by a missile strike.
Amazon initially announced that it would restore access to affected resources and data, but now says this is not possible. The company continues to work on fixing the issue in the UAE, although no timeline has been given for when services will be restored.
