Amazon Doubles Ultra-Fast Delivery Footprint in India
Amazon has significantly expanded its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, to over 120 Indian cities in just two weeks. This expansion marks a significant step up for the e-commerce giant's delivery network ahead of the festive season.
The company's ultra-fast delivery service offers a wide range of products, including groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen food, personal care items, fashion and beauty products, small appliances, and home and kitchen goods. These orders are fulfilled through almost 800 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers.
Notably, Amazon Now had crossed $1 billion in annualised gross sales in India based on the previous three-month period, as reported by the company in September. With this expansion, Amazon plans to reach over 300 cities and build what it describes as India's largest 'delivery-in-minutes' network.
