Amazon is exploring an $8 billion special-purpose vehicle (SPV) to lease Nvidia Grace Blackwell chips from investors, according to Dealroom. The SPV would issue debt to investors, who expect an investment-grade rating tied to Amazon's double-A credit.

This would allow insurers and pension funds to invest in the deal, potentially providing a significant influx of capital for Amazon's cloud computing business.

Amazon is reportedly offering up to 10% equity stake in the vehicle while retaining no ownership itself. The chips are used across thousands of units in over a dozen US data centers in five states, including Nevada and Virginia.
