Amazon Invests $100M in New Greenwood Facility
Amazon has announced plans to build a new $100 million manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana. The 585,000-square-foot facility is expected to create 300 high-paying jobs by the end of 2028.
The facility will focus on producing products that power Amazon's fulfillment and robotics network. These products include those with advanced fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating, and assembly capabilities.
Some of the new roles at the facility will include computer numerical control operators, welders, powder coating technicians, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance specialists, controls engineers, and program managers.
The investment in Indiana is a significant one, with Amazon having already invested over $40 billion in the state since 2008. This new facility is seen as a testament to the strength of the state's manufacturing workforce and its business-friendly environment.
