Amazon Unveils Faster, Sleeker Fire TV Stick 4K

Amazon introduced an upgraded Fire TV Stick 4K ahead of its Prime Day event next week. The new device is part of Amazon's 'new generation' of Fire TV hardware and boasts improved performance compared to older models.

The Fire TV Stick 4K is said to be faster than other similarly priced devices, with Amazon claiming it turns on 20-40% quicker than competitors and launches apps up to 35% faster. The company also tested the device against three top-selling 4K smart TVs from major brands, finding that its stick played content significantly faster.

The new Fire TV Stick 4K features a sleeker design, with a quad-core 1.7GHz processor and 8GB of built-in storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and LE, as well as various display standards and media formats. The device will retail for $60 but be available for $30 during the Prime Big Deal Days next week.
