American Airlines has unveiled its first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring the airline's Flagship Suite experience. The upgraded plane boasts 70 Flagship Suite seats with privacy doors and chaise lounge seating positions, as well as 44 Premium Economy seats with sculpted headrests and adjustable calf and footrests.

The retrofitted 777-300ER entered service on September 2 between New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Buenos Aires. The new configuration significantly increases premium seating onboard, removing the eight-seat First Class cabin while adding 18 Business Class seats and 16 Premium Economy seats.

American plans to retrofit all 20 of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft during 2027, eventually bringing the new interior across the entire fleet. The airline's Chief Commercial Officer, Nat Pieper, stated that the Flagship Suite represents 'the next evolution of premium travel at American.'
