Amgen's Dazodalibep Shows Rapid Progress in Treating Sjögren's Disease

Amgen's experimental therapy dazodalibep has shown promising results in treating Sjögren's disease, a chronic autoimmune disorder. In a Phase 3 trial, patients with moderate-to-severe symptoms experienced rapid and sustained reductions in disease activity after receiving the treatment.

The trial, OASIZ 301, enrolled over 650 participants who were randomly assigned to receive either one of two doses of dazodalibep or a placebo. The main goal was to evaluate changes in ESSDAI scores, which measure disease activity across organ systems, after 48 weeks.

According to Amgen, top-line results showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements at Week 48 in ESSDAI scores with dazodalibep. Improvements were seen as early as week 4 and sustained through week 48.
