Apple CarPlay Just Got a Major Upgrade in iOS 27
The latest iOS 27 update has expanded Apple CarPlay's capabilities across various app categories. One of the most notable features is live video browsing, which allows drivers to watch content from their favorite apps directly on the native screen while parked.
This feature requires automakers to certify AirPlay video integration, but it doesn't support it out of the box currently. However, users can still enjoy customization and intelligence upgrades in CarPlay.
The new update enables users to pin third-party widgets to their dashboard, scrub through audio tracks with a MiniPlayer, and rely on Siri AI for conversational control, which requires an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, or newer.
